Lest We Forget

Lest We Forget is a lyrical act of remembrance and resistance. Through haunting persona poems that breathe life into the silenced voices of the Weeping Time Sale, love letters to Atlanta and Black girlhood, and fierce protest poems in memoriam to the pain of police brutality, Deaundra Jackson quilts a tapestry of grief, grace, and undying truth. These meditations on memory, identity, and the poet’s role in bearing witness unveil a voice that is both tender and unflinching, refusing to let history, or hope, be erased.
