About the Author: Helen Kay Polaski was born and raised in Michigan's lower peninsula, the 7th child in a family of 16 children. She never tires of telling the tales of her childhood. Writing about her family and the love they share is one of her favorite pastimes.

Helen is married to her high-school sweetheart, Tom, and they have three children: April, Alissa, and Nathan. She still resides in the beautiful state of Michigan, where she is surrounded by family, and dreams of one day owning a home on the shores of Lake Huron.
