in this powerful book from a seasoned strategy expert with experience in both the private and public sectors.
In Forget What You Thought You Know About Strategy, strategy veteran Robert Aguilar breaks down the pitfalls, landmines, and outdated models of setting strategy. Aguilar draws on his experience driving multibillion dollar change efforts in both the military and civilian worlds to offer advice for taking your organization to unparalleled heights effectively and more quickly.
Precisely targeted for senior leaders across any organization yet to truly harness the transformative power of setting and executing strategy, the book is also valuable for those who have attempted to bring about planned change only to find their vision eroded by the buffeting winds of change so intrinsic in today’s environment. The book will help you set the course from the get-go, and to discover how to think about setting tomorrow’s vision in today’s “new normal.” You’ll learn how to effectively navigate the choppy waters of implementation, where the momentum and appetite for change can dissipate before the roadmap is even revealed.
Forget What You Thought You Know About Strategy is a critical must-read for anyone responsible for revenue generation—either serving in a senior management role or aspiring to do so in the future. The insights here will help you create improved organizational conditions, whether that is increased market share, an improved collaborative culture, or developing new and lucrative core competencies that will take the firm to significantly expanded business.
Reading this book will help senior leaders and those who aspire to senior management by:
- Equipping you with the steps to bring about impactful, lasting change.
- Expanding what you thought was possible for yourself and your organization.
- Guiding you in traversing today’s dynamic and risk laden business landscape.
- Helping you inspire your company to reach for new heights.
- Allowing you to create an environment of excitement and collaboration that will lead to increased employee satisfaction and a drastic reduction in turnover.
- Creating a sense of accountability across the organization that will lead to increasing momentum.
- Leading you to paint an unrestrained and vivid picture of a new company vision with the checkpoints you'll need to get there.
- Providing you with real world examples of what works and what doesn't when it comes to creating and achieving the vision of tomorrow.
