Forging The Blade

An empathic assassin. A fire-starting terrorist. The trial of a lifetime.

Avalia is on trial for her life.
Born with empathic abilities, and now the most lethal assassin on the planet, she has been summoned before The Court of The Regents where she must face the questions of all eleven elemental regencies. What follows is a recounting of her whole life, from her orphaned infancy as a mutant freak, to her unexpected relationship with The Ringmaster in The Realm of The Unusual, and her eventual path into an assassin’s world of darkness. But will her tale sway The Regents? Or will this be the end of her story?

A masterful assassin origin story, Forging the Blade provides the high stakes and dark, complex world building of writers like Sarah J. Maas combined with the gritty ambience of a steampunk circus.
