Add to basketBlack cloth covers with gold stamped lettering on front cover. The covers are a bit soiled and worn. There is some toning and foxing to the end pages and top page edges, but the binding is tight and with the exception of page 9, the text is clean. On page 9, two paragraphs are bracketed in ink. There are no other markings or anotations in the text. The dust jacket is similarly soiled and worn and the rear panel is creased and torn, especially on the top. Still, despite the stated flaws a decent reading copy of a hard to find title. ; There is no copyright page on the verso of the title page, but the Forward is dated 1965 and the Introduction 1964. The dust jacket front panel has a map of India, China, and Southeast Asia with India in yellow and China in red. The rear panel has a photograph of Bhagat and a brief biogarphy. Bhagat was India's first WWII recipient of the Victoria Cross for his service with the 5 Indian Division in North Africa in 1941. This book was written in the aftermath of the 1962 Chinese assault on India. He details the problems and possble solutions (as of the mid 60s) for the defence of India and of Southeast Asia. ; Dust jacket map of India and China; 8vo 8" - 9" tall.
