Bitterness rarely arrives all at once. It takes root quietly in wounds, regrets, betrayals, and unresolved pain. True freedom begins when we receive God's mercy and learn to extend it to others--even when forgiveness feels impossible.
In Forgiveness: Received from God, Extended to Others, author Donna (Pyle) Snow addresses one of life's most difficult challenges with honesty, compassion, and biblical insight. Rather than offering easy answers or urging readers to simply "move on," she acknowledges the deep hurt caused by family conflict, betrayal, abuse, repeated offenses, and injustice while pointing to the healing found in Christ.
Through Scripture, personal reflection, and practical study exercises, Snow helps readers confront the myths that often keep them trapped in resentment. She shows that forgiveness is neither excusing wrongdoing nor pretending the past never happened. Instead, it is a Christ-centered path toward freedom, healing, and restoration.
This eight-lesson Bible study helps readers:
- Distinguish forgiveness from excusing harmful behavior or forcing reconciliation
- Establish healthy, safety-conscious boundaries in difficult or abusive relationships
- Address anger, shame, repeated offenses, and the roots of bitterness
- Receive God's mercy when personal failures seem impossible to overcome
- Understand what Scripture teaches about forgiveness and grace
- Find practical support for individual study, small groups, or congregational discussion
Combining personal testimony, biblical teaching, and guided reflection, Forgiveness: Received from God, Extended to Others invites readers to name their hurts honestly, release the burden of resentment, and discover the freedom Christ makes possible.
For anyone carrying an old wound, struggling to forgive, or longing to experience the transforming power of God's grace, this study offers a faithful and hope-filled path forward.
