‘Happy go lucky, always there for you’ Noah Ryan, isn’t feeling the happy or the lucky part of his reputation.

He can’t seem to let go of the role he had in a tragedy that rocked his family and friends. Add to that, getting dumped and volunteering for the role of emergency guardian to local sixteen-year-old Charlie, and Noah is in over his head.

Just when he thinks it couldn’t get any more complicated, his best friend’s younger sister moves in next door. Her contempt for him and his so-called delinquent teenager should have him running in the other direction. On top of that, he’s now taken in the kid responsible for the fire at her brother’s farm.

She never thought she could forgive Noah and Charlie for risking her brother’s life in that fire, but the more time she spends with them, the less she’s sure about that. Between a moody teenager, runaway cows and her new neighbour, her plans for a quiet life in Balsam River seem to be changing beyond her control.
