Peace had reigned for many generations, and the War of Ages, a battle between mech forces and living beings, had largely been forgotten, as had the use of magic. But through an accidental discovery of an ancient mech ship, Halic, a gnome dedicated to the study of technology, discovers the presence of mech forces on the nearby planets. With some newfound friends, Halic gets drawn into a mission to make others aware of the resurging threat. The races must unite and revive their magical skills to combat the mechs before they take control of all living beings, and potentially annihilate them completely.

With records virtually nonexistent, and verbal stories that few believe, can Halic and his companions devise a method of defeating the mechs in time? One thing is certain; magic had prevailed in the past, and magic will desperately be needed again.

Carey Scheppner is a first generation Canadian who grew up in a northern Ontario community. An avid reader ever since he could read, Carey grew to enjoy the fantasy genre the most. As an Electronics Engineering Technician, he excelled in the art of electronics. He also tutored English and mathematics in college. Carey was the director of a credit union for twenty years and picked up skills in accounting, which he still utilizes to this day.

Carey's interest in fantasy novels and games never diminished, and seeing the numbers of novels with predictable characters and outcomes, he decided to embark on writing his own fantasy novels. He wanted to ensure plenty of action and interesting characters to leave the reader thrilled with the unlimited possibilities of a fantasy world.

Carey enjoys the country lifestyle and enjoys fishing and hunting. It is a means of leaving the civilized world behind to breathe in the fresh country air, where inspiration is born. This leads to an unleashing of the imagination and the creation of strange new worlds. . .
