About the Authors

Charles J. Filmore (1929–2014) was professor of linguistics at the University of California, Berkeley.

Pedro Gras is associate professor of Spanish linguistics at the University of Antwerp.

Jef Verschueren is professor emeritus of linguistics at the University of Antwerp.
