A very scarce work by The Great Council of the United States, 'Forms for Great State Councils Of The Improved Order of Red Men'. The Improved Order of Red Men are an American fraternal organization originally formed in 1834. It previously existed under different names. The order have rituals and regalia modelled from those assumed to be used by Native Americans. An incredibly scarce work. This work explains ceremonies and rituals used by the order. Some pages even comprise of sheet music for songs. The work is undated, with 'G.S.D 412' to the title page, dating the work after 1903. In original red morocco binding with blind stamping to the rear board and gilt stamping to the front board. Externally, sound with small patches of heavy rubbing to the extremities and to the spine. Loss to the head and tail of spine, worse to the tail. Hinges are slightly strained but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Front endpaper is slightly torn at edges. Pages are slightly age toned to edges and clean throughout. Good. Seller Inventory # LTH25-C-16
