This book is quarterbound leather with a patterned (shades of red and blue) paper. Spine titling is badly faded and there is much wear to edges, corners and surface. The front hinge appears to have been reglued and I suspect at least one endpaper is missing, though the ffep is present. The book grades in the Good range. There are two title pages, one from 1844 with the title "The Effects and Adventures of Raby Rattler, Gent. The other lists the title I have used and has the date as 1846. No author is given. I take this to be either a second edition or second printing. All illustrations are present. I know nothing about this novel but it seems to be uncommon. ; 28 B&W Drawings; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 645 pages.
