It Was Forty Years Ago Today: First Innings At Lampeter (It was 40 years ago today)

The author's memoirs of the first year at a unique place of study, Saint Davids University College, Lampeter, at a unique time, the early 1980s. Making the most of the opportunity to enjoy undergraduate student life that had almost slipped through his fingers, the author was very quickly swept up in the bi-lingual, rural and downright eccentric life that contrasted sharply with an upbringing in a large industrial city in Yorkshire. If the past is another country, this era, for now, is more like a separate region when compared to the present. Packing in as much as possible, life very quickly became more than cricket, Monty Python and cider consumption, although only just.
