The quintessential violin method just got even better with a new edition expertly updated and edited by world-famous violinist Rachel Barton Pine. It contains modernized fingerings, bowings and dynamics by Pine, all newly engraved for this edition. At the same time it remains faithful to the original, maintaining the same pedagogical sequence as Aiqouni s classic edition. This edition also includes a DVD of Rachel Barton Pineplaying all 60 etudes, with two camera views so students can choose to see either the bow or the left hand technique. For beginning to intermediate players.

About the Author
In both life and art, violinist Rachel Barton Pine has an extraordinary gift for connecting with her audiences. Her exquisite performances brim with passion, and her honesty in communicating the core emotion of great works continues to move listeners worldwide. Pine s penchant for research allows her to bring historically-informed interpretations to her diverse repertoire. With 16 CD s recorded, her current release on Cedille Records, Trio Settecento: A German Bouquet, explores German Baroque sonatas. Season highlights include Japan and New York City recital debuts, as well as performances with the Israel Chamber Orchestra, the Turku Philharmonic (her Finland debut), and the Vancouver, Sacramento and Syracuse Symphonies. Pine is the first woman and living composer to be published in Carl Fischer Masters Collection series, and she is Music Advisor and Editor of Maud Powell Favorites, the first and only published compilation of music closely associated with Powell. Grateful to those who helped her become a concert violinist, Pine continues to mentor and inspire the next generation of artists and concert-goers through her philanthropic, educational and outreach activities.
