Foundations of Faith: Lectures on the Core Beliefs of Islam through the Teachings of the Ahl ul Bayt

In a world filled with confusion and spiritual restlessness, Foundations of Faith offers a guiding light rooted in the timeless wisdom of Islam. Written by Sheikh Mateen Charbonneau, a respected scholar and convert to Shi’a Islam, this book explores the core tenets of faith through the lens of the Ahl ul Bayt (the family of the Prophet Muhammad [s]).

This comprehensive volume addresses the most essential questions of belief:

• What is the true purpose of life?

• How can we strengthen our relationship with Allah?

• Why does suffering exist, and why do some prayers go unanswered?

• What role do the Prophets, Imams, and intercession (Shafa’a) play in our spiritual journey?

Drawing from the Qur’an, authentic hadith, and classical scholarship, Sheikh Mateen provides practical insights into understanding Tawheed (Oneness of God), the dangers of shirk (associating partners with Allah), and the significance of acts like prayer, gratitude, and seeking knowledge. Each chapter is designed to nurture the heart and mind, offering clarity for both new seekers and lifelong believers.

What You’ll Gain from this Book:

• A clear understanding of the foundations of Islamic belief from a Shi’a perspective.

• Inspiring stories from the lives of the Ahl ul Bayt and lessons for modern-day challenges.

• Guidance on nurturing spiritual resilience, gratitude, and reliance on Allah.

• Practical advice for teaching faith and values to the next generation.

Whether you are exploring Islam for the first time, deepening your understanding of faith, or seeking answers to life’s most pressing questions, Foundations of Faith serves as both a roadmap and companion on your spiritual journey.
