Needham; And, Religious Industry By J. Balguy. This collection presents four sermons addressing essential moral and religious duties. Sermon I, by H. Blair, emphasizes the omnipresence of the Divine and the call to live with constant awareness of God’s presence, shaping virtue and humility even in prosperity or adversity. Sermon II, by J. Charlesworth, argues that lying undermines social harmony and trust, detailing how deceit damages individuals, families, and communities, and condemns dishonesty with scriptural authority. Sermon III, by R. Needham, discusses forgiveness and love of enemies, urging Christians to refrain from revenge and to practice mercy, prayer, and reconciliation. Sermon IV, by J. Balguy, stresses diligent virtue, purpose, and religious devotion as essential to eternal happiness, warning against worldly indolence and stressing preparation for the life to come. The work is a 19th-century religious tract, rich in biblical references and exhortations to moral conduct.
