Four Sided Triangle

This is a hardcover, with dust jacket, published by John Long Limited. Per ISFDB, UK publisher John Long issued this novel as a hardcover first edition in 1949, then as a lower priced second hardcover printing in 1951 with the same Roger Hall jacket art. (It's possible the second printing was published in anticipation of the 1952 film version.) The bottom corner of this book's jacket front flap is clipped, and the obverse of its title page -- which should be its copyright page -- has only "Printed in Great Britain by the Anchor Press, Ltd., Tiptree, Essex". So … in the absence of any edition, printing or price info on this book or its jacket, I am presenting it as a 1951 second printing of this scarce science fiction novel. The book is in very good condition, marred only by a former owner's bookplate on its front pastedown, spine lean, bumped top corners and spine ends, three 1/4" black stains on the bottom edge of its front cover, some tiny white spots on its front cover along its spine, and some light foxing on its endpapers. Its binding is sound, with no spine crease. Covers are otherwise unmarked and unworn, with bright gilt titles on its spine. Pages are unworn and otherwise unmarked. Its dust jacket, now protected by a removable mylar cover, is in good+ condition: bright and mostly whole, marred only by its clipped front flap, some non-obscuring black marks on its back, a 1/4" chip in its back bottom spine corner, and some light wear on the top of its spine and flap folds. I will ship this book in a moisture proof zip-loc bag, padded in bubble wrap, inside a sturdy box to assure it reaches its new owner in the same condition as my description.…
