Here is “Four and Twenty Minds” by Italian Author Giovanni Papini, who was famed for his book, “Life of Christ”. Published by Thomas Y. Crowell in 1922, this is the Third Printing. Note that there are several Italians included who are now mostly forgotten - at least by English-speaking readers. Contains a brief Preface; [viii] + 324 pages; 5 1/4” x 7 3/4”; red, cloth-covered boards and spine, with gilt lettering on spine and front board. Sans dust-jacket (the jacket’s clipped blurb remains) CONDITION -- VERY GOOD -- This is a previously owned book that remains clean and presentable, with the following particulars noted : EXTERIOR : Gilt lettering is bright; spine extremities are compressed and display a touch of abrasion and fraying (fraying just starting); boards have just a slight touch of weathering, but are essentially clean and display solid color; board corner tips are square. Bottom edges of boards display slight shelf wear. Text-block edges are slightly toned, else clean. BINDING : The leaves open easily, but the whole remains solid, with no detached or loose leaves. INTERIOR There are a small number of leaves with slightly dog-eared corner tips; paper throughout is lightly toned. The end-papers are somewhat toned (more so at the front); there are two inked signatures with dates on the front free end-paper (one dated Dec. 25, 1926 - and the other dated Feb. 1984. there are no other marking on the interior - no underlining or marginalia - no writing. DUST-JACKET : Sans. Only the clipped blurb remains.
