Synopsis:
Acknowledged as the supreme melodic master of nineteenth-century Russian music, Tchaikovsky brought the full power of his gifts to bear in the composition of his last three symphonies. Here are the full scores of the fourth, fifth, and sixth symphonies, embodying the sumptuous tone and melodic mastery that characterize the composer's mature work.
This volume contains the scores for his most popular symphonies, which rank among the most frequently recorded works in the repertoire: The Fourth Symphony in F Minor, Op. 36; the Fifth Symphony in E Minor, Op. 64; and the Sixth Symphony in B Minor, Op. 74. A glossary of French and German terms in the score, including instrumentation, has also been included.
The large format of this edition makes each score clear and easy to follow in any study situation. These complete printings of the entire scores are indispensable for the fullest appreciation of the music.
