Running words: 208 ?This story is a dramatic narrative, very closely based on a true incident. It is important for children to realize that a real fox will play dead in exactly this way. Foxes behave in intelligent ways to avoid capture, and this behavior has entered many folk stories. ?Predictability and logic are an essential part of this story-every page has clues that lead to the events on the next page.
