The Fox's Watch

Alana Fox is a woman of a certain age and the gatekeeper to Malibu's social scene. Alana knows who lives where, who does what, and who does who in 90263. If you are new in town, Alana can open doors to parties, premieres, and private shindigs. For a small fee, and a referral, of course. The referral helps Alana weed out the likes of Little Miss Tight Buns - her ex-husband's new, young wife. The fee is paid in cash and helps Alana to keep the IRS's paws off at least some of her money. Alana enjoys the social clout she wields. But when her newest client becomes a suspect in a spectacular art robbery, Alana finds her reputation in shreds. But when the new client is murdered, Alana finds herself the prime suspect. To restore her good name and keep the cops from hauling her off to jail, Alana must find out who set her up and why. As she struggles to redeem herself, Alana learns she is about to be set up for yet another murder. And this time, the intended target is Little Miss Tight Bun's toddler son!
