Fractured: Book Two in the Slated Trilogy

In the second installment of the dystopian Slated trilogy, Kyla’s forgotten past begins to intrude on a disturbing future that is starting to feel all too real.

“One of the most brilliant, mind-blowing, clever books I have ever read . . . Amazing. Absolutely amazing.”—The Guardian

“The romance and politics keep [the] suspense ratcheted up. . . . Intriguing—readers will be on tenterhooks for the next one.”—Kirkus Reviews

In a world full of danger, who can you trust?

Ever since she woke up in the hospital with her memory erased, Kyla has been different from other Slateds, questioning things she shouldn’t. And now something has cracked open inside her: Fragments of memories show she’s capable of violence, and might have done anything before she was Slated.

Kyla longs to find out what happened to her Slated friend Ben, but the Lorders won’t hand over the information she so desperately wants without a price. Caught in the middle of a tug-of-war between dangerous adversaries, Kyla must work out where she stands before it is too late. In a world that seeks to control her, every move is a gamble, and nothing—not even her own memories—can be trusted.

Teri Terry, Canadian by birth, has lived in France, Canada, Australia and England, at more addresses than she can count. She’s been a scientist, lawyer, optometrist and business manager, and worked in high schools and libraries, with writing and stories always humming along in the background. Because moving constantly has kept her on the outside looking in much of her life, she has an obsession with characters who don’t belong or find themselves in unfamiliar places. Slated was her first novel, and she recently completed a research MA on the depiction of terrorism in young-adult literature. She lives in Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom.
