Mine

MINE is a mixture of diamond impressions. It is a about a person, Diamond Frances, and her particular life as a contemporary female artist. Containing biographical snippets and anecdotes from real life, art theory and practise it blends with personal fantasy into the form of a non-traditional artist’s book. MINE has been constructed so that every person, from all backgrounds, will find their own gems and trajectories through the deep dark below. As a book MINE offers the reader something unique, something different to every other reading experience.

Diamond Frances lives and works in East London with her husband and three children. She was born in the Tyrol in Austria and graduated from the Slade School of Fine Art in 2005. After a decade of intense experimentation and travelling widely her work in recent years has become more refined and focused. MINE is her first book and it provides detailed background and context to her current art projects and theoretical structures. At the heart of Diamond Frances’s work is the concept and realisation of art as a tool for living in a more meaningful way, impelling individuals and society away from commercial money machines and superficial, elitist outlets of consumerist idiocy. Diamond Frances is a pioneer of the old way of doing things.
