Original company broshure - undated, ca. 1945 - - The Franklin Engine Company was an American manufacturer of aircraft engines. 1933 the company was purchased by a group of ex-employees and renamed Aircooled Motors in 1937. While the company kept the name of "Aircooled Motors," its engines continued to be marketed under the Franklin name. - - The Franklin 335 engine was a 6 cylinder air cooled opposed engine with a rated horse power of 150 or 165, depending on the model.
