Blatt mit mittiger Bindefalte und Einriss (circa 3 cm) im oberen Rand. Sonst guter Zustand.Johannes Janssonius (1588 Arnhem - 1664 Amsterdam). Auch Jan Janszoon oder Jan Janssen. Niederländischer Karthograf und Verleger. Heiratete 1612 die Tochter von Jodocus Hondius (1563-1612), dem Eigentümer der Druckplatten von Mercator. Gab den Atlas Mercator-Hondius neu heraus. 1633 folgte die Ausgabe des zweiten Bandes - der sog. Mercator-Hondius-Janssonius. Sein größtes Werk ist der Atlas 'Theatre du Monde', der in 11 Bänden 1639 bis 1666 erschien. Titelkartusche mit Wappen des Ancien Régime unten links.
