XLviii pp + 485 pages and a publishers leaf at the rear, a portrait frontispiece of the author, 13th edition corrected and enlarged, collated as complete, but requires a rebind as there are old repairs at endpapers and front board detached, the text is mostly clean with some sporadic light foxing, the frontispiece is foxed and an old ink insription on the title page. The book is bound in 12's but small octavo size. 1835. *Note: The most celebrated chef in England before Soyer, worked for royalty and was the chef on £1200 per annum at Crockford's until a monetary situation arose. He was liked by Soyer. He coined the phrase "Cooks are born not made" & "France is a nation of one religion and many sauces, England is a land of sects but only one sauce". He also gave us Haute Cuisine.
