French Toast a la Santa Fe (2) (Couriers)

Aspiring Courier Prudence Bates joins ten other tourists in 1929 for a three-day Indian Detour from Las Vegas, New Mexico to Albuquerque, in hopes that their Courier will become her advocate with the Detours. She expects to explore ancient Indian ruins, stay in luxurious Harvey hotels, and observe exotic Pueblo dances. She doesn’t expect theft, attempted murder, ghosts, and mysterious strangers. What secrets are the German college boys hiding? What did Edie and Gertie see at the ruin? Who pushed Agnes into the kiva? Does she really commune with the spirits? What did Dessie see floating around the fountain at La Fonda? Was it La Llorona? Why is her sister, Cordelia, so disagreeable and spiteful? Is her husband, Frank, really as straightforward as he pretends? Where does Flora disappear to at the Pueblos? And who is that tall, dark man talking privately to their driver at every stop?
