About this title

Synopsis

The critically-acclaimed anthology FRESH ROMANCE is finally available in print! Have you been wondering what the fuss is all about? FRESH ROMANCE is an exciting collection of romance comics from some of comics’ most talented creators, including Kate Leth, Arielle Jovellanos, Sarah Vaughn, Sarah Winifred Searle, Sarah Kuhn, Marguerite Bennett, and Trungles. From unhappy historical marriages to covert teenage romances, there’s something for everyone in FRESH ROMANCE.

About the Author

Hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, Kate Leth began publishing comics online in 2011. After building an audience on tumblr with their autobiographical work and regular comics for now-defunct geek hub ComicsAlliance, they wrote three Adventure Time graphic novels for KaBoom! including the Marceline-centric Seeing Red, which made the NYT Bestseller list for Graphic Novels. In addition, they penned three volumes of Bravest Warriors, a Fraggle Rock collection, and drew several covers, backup stories and more.

From there, Kate pursued comics from every angle. They’re best known for three volumes of Marvel’s Patsy Walker: AKA Hellcat, IDW’s Edward Scissorhands, original series Spell on Wheels from Dark Horse, as well as the webcomic Valley Ghouls. They’ve worked on everything from Vampirella to Transformers. A full list of comics credits can be found on ComicVine.

Kate’s debut solo graphic novel (with colours by Diana Sousa) Mall Goth is out NOW from Simon & Schuster’s YA division, Simon Teen.

Marguerite Bennett is an American comic book writer. She has worked on Bombshells, Angela, Josie and the Pussycats, and her creator-owned books InSeXts and Animosity. Her work has been recognized for her depiction of female relationships, and her representation of LGBTQ stories and characters earned nominations for a GLAAD Media Award in 2016 and 2017.
