A reprint in German of the biography of Frida Kahlo, which Diego Rivera, the greatest Mexican painter of the beginning of the century (and her husband), described as "the only example in the history of art of someone who plucks his own breast and his own heart to tell the truth That you feel in them. " Frida was born in 1907 in Mexico City. At age 17, a road accident forced her to stay in bed for two years and to wear orthopedic braces until the end of her short life - would die at the age of only 47. It was during this period that Frida Kahlo discovered the painting, an art that would lead her to stormy marriage with Diego Rivera (who later divorced and remarried). Accustomed to her husband's extramarital affairs, Frida - who despite her disability was a beautiful woman - would become involved with several men, among them Leon Trotski or photographer Nicholas Muray.
