Robert Wyngaert is the fourth of five children, born and raised as a Belgian immigrant on the South Shore of Montreal. At nine years old, he is kicked out of school and forced to make his way in the world through working odd jobs and eventually building up a career. The day before his 1958 wedding, the stable, well-paying job he has worked his way up to lays him off, leaving him back at square one.

Unbelievable but True is Robert’s story, from his humble beginnings to his constant drive for financial security and to find meaning in his life. From working three jobs at once to support his wife and three children, to building apartment buildings, a restaurant, and a campground. This book shares his achievements, his struggles, and his gratitude for everyone who helped him out along the way!

Robert Wyngaert has been a gentleman bouncer, supervised the weekend shifts at Canada Packers, owned a restaurant, worked his way up the corporate ladder at Pratt & Whitney, and built a five-star campground from the ground up, but his greatest accomplishment is his family. He lives in Quebec with his beautiful wife, Barbara. Whenever there isn't a global pandemic, you will find their children and grandchildren there every week for Sunday night dinner.
