Single issue publication with stitched binding, part of it still intact. Pages tanned and foxed with some soiling/staining. Holes in left margin, heavy wear to corners, some edge wear. Weekly Quaker publication begun in 1847. Later merged with Christian Worker to form American Friend. Contents: Testimony of Woodbridge Monthly Meeting concerning Dykes Alexander (1763-1849), deceased. Extract from the speech of James Meacham of Vermont, on the California Bill; 5th month, 14th in the House of Representatives. The electric telegraph (continued). Letter from members of the Society of Friends (Thomas Wistar Jr. and Alfred Cope) to Millard illmore, President of the United States (regarding Native Americans). Wine or spirits - which is the most dangerous? Numerous reprints of news from various sources, with discussion of slavery in some. 10" tall; 16 pages.

Shipping is by Media Mail or Priority Mail within the US. We also
accommodate
UPS shipping upon request.
We do not charge for Media Mail shipping inside the US. Priority mail is
generally $6.50 ($4.00 extra for additional books in the same shipment)--
although if weight of book results in significantly higher postal cost, we
will
advise the customer before the transaction is finalized.
Outside the US, we strive to keep shipping charges as close to the actual
postage cost as possible.
DESTINATIONS IN CANADA: First Class International, $15.00 for the first

and $10.00 for additional. Priority Mail International, $22.00 for the first
