The author writes from a background of sixteen years of commissioned service in the Army. Meek -- whose started writing before he became Colonel Meek -- has written several outstanding dog and horse stores, including Franz: A Dog of the Police; Rusty, a Cocker Spaniel; Surfman, the Adventures of a Coast Guard Dog; Boy, an Ozark Coon Hound; Pagan, a Border Patrol Horse, and several others. This is part of the Famous Horse Stories series, with the series device on the spine and front cover.
