The Frontline People Strategy: A Practical Guide for Manufacturing and Distribution Leaders

Your people show up in one place on your financials. The expense column.

That's the lie, and it may be the most expensive thing you believe. Because once people are a cost, every instinct says cut, automate, do more with less. The bill arrives later as turnover, errors, lost accounts, and a workforce giving you the bare minimum.

Written for the companies most business books skip.

The ones that make and move things, where HR is one person doing the work of five, and where the driver who has been on the job six weeks is the face of your brand to your biggest account. Drawing on thirty years leading people, from an intern at UPS to Chief People Officer, Tracie Sponenberg gives you a framework built for your floor and your budget, not adapted from a Fortune 500 playbook.

A framework you can use on Monday.

See the whole person. Honor the work. Invest in growth. Foster connections. Tell the truth. Each one comes with diagnostic tools, real stories from real operations, and specific actions, plus a two-year roadmap with results visible in the first ninety days. No theory without application. No inspiration without a next step.

The ideas work anywhere the job happens on the frontline, from logistics to retail to any business built on deskless workers. But they were built for you first.
