About the Author

Rick Baldwin, Sr. Pastor of Friendswood Community Church in Friendswood, TX, graduated from Texas A&M University at the top of his class in 1976 in Engineering.

An outstanding student leader at A&M, Rick was recipient of the Thomas Gathwright award for highest grade point average in the College of Engineering, President of the Student Engineer's Council and one of 4 recipients of the "Outstanding Senior" Award from the College of Engineering. Rick was a quickly rising petroleum engineer serving as Director of Acquisitions for the largest independent oil company in the world when he made the decision to change professions and become a pastor. After 15 years in the oil business, God led him to pursue a seminary education and become a pastor. He attended Asbury Theological Seminary, earning a Master of Divinity degree in 1995. Rick lives in Friendswood, TX with his wife, Marie. He has two sons who are following in his footsteps at Texas A&M University.
