Add to basketKen Storey?is a Professor in the Institute of Biochemistry at Carleton University and holds the Canada Research Chair in Molecular Physiology. His research focuses on the molecular adaptations that permit animals to survive severe environmental stresses and his work has explored the many intriguing ways that animals alter their metabolism, modify enzyme function, and regulate gene expression to endure deep cold, oxygen deprivation and water restriction, or meet the multiple demands of muscle exercise metabolism. The author of over 450 research publications and the editor of 5 other books, Dr. Storey has lectured on biochemical adaptation on every continent and has done research in places as diverse as the Amazon jungle and the Antarctic ice shelf. He has received multiple fellowships and awards and is an elected fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
