[5], 24 pp. Buck takes the opportunity of the death of Zachary Taylor to express his anti-slavery views: "And what does it mean, that, in this country, boasting itself to be the refuge of the oppressed and the home of the free; what does it mean that one eighth part of all the inhabitants of this entire nation are held in bondage as hopeless, as cruel, and as degrading, as ever disgraced the annals of heathen barbarism?" CONDITION: damp-stains, foxing, intact.
