About the Author:

Jacob F. Roecker was born in Southern California and spent his teenage years growing up in Connecticut in a home with two brothers and loving parents. In 1997 he chose to be the 6th generation in his family to join the United States Army. Jacob is a cum laude graduate of Utah State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Speech Communication. He has also served in two deployments to Iraq. In 2005 he was one of 100 Soldiers selected for the Army's Green to Gold Active Duty Program. Jacob is an Eagle Scout, Bronze Star Medal recipient, and was awarded the ROTC "Top Cadet" for both USU and Weber State Universities when commissioned in 2008. He has also been honored as Utah State University's "Man of the Year." Jacob's previous work was published in the American Communication Journal while he was an undergrad as well as USU's scribendi writing contest. He is also a member of the Lambda Pi Eta (the communications honor society). Jacob has been married since the spring of 2000 to his lovely wife Chrissy, and they currently have four children, a dog, two cats, a handful of chickens, and whatever bugs, toads, and frogs the boys find in the yard.
