The Future of Development Financing. Challenges and Strategic Choices.

Today's international development financing system seems like a collection of disjointed entities that often work at cross purposes without being able to mobilize enough finance for developing countries in their efforts to reduce poverty and improve living standards. This book brings together the vast array of new initiatives in financing mechanisms and proposals to transform the development finance architecture. Based on four different scenarios for the next ten-year period, proposals are made for how to reach an effective system.

FRANCISCO SAGASTI is Director of Agenda: PERU, a think-tank in Lima and Visiting Professor at the University for Peace in Costa Rica. He has been Chief of Strategic Planning at the World Bank, Chairman of the United Nations Advisory Committee on Science and Technology, and Visiting Professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, USA.

KEITH BEZANSON was Director of the Institute of Development Studies in the United Kingdom from 1997-2004. He was previously President of Canada's International Development Research Centre, Administrative Manager of the Inter-American Development Bank and Vice-President of the Canadian International Development Agency.

FERNANDO PRADA is Associate Researcher at FORO Nacional/Internacional. He has been Advisor at the Prime Minister's Office in Peru and Research Assistant at the Institute of Development Studies in Sussex, UK.
