Future That Never Was (Paperback or Softback)

Pirates, pistons, and a missing captain―only one sky-scoundrel can stop Europe from falling apart.

In this action-packed steampunk fantasy novel, Albion Clemens isn’t your typical corsair. When his American stepfather―renegade sky captain Samuel Clemens―vanishes in Steam Age Europe, Albion must follow a trail of vanished landmarks, royal spies, and mechanical mayhem.

But Captain Samuel hasn’t just gone missing―he’s absconded with the Laputian Leviathan, a legendary artifact that could shift the balance of power across the skies. Now, Europe’s aerial navies are in chaos, and rumors swirl of someone stealing monuments straight out of the clouds.

With a fierce lady inspector, a rebellious journalist, and a knife-happy helmswoman at his side, Albion plunges into a world of floating cities, clockwork conspiracies, and steam-powered sabotage to uncover the truth―and maybe save the world along the way.

Take to the skies in a whirlwind steampunk adventure brimming with airships, sky pirates, and globe-spanning intrigue.

Kin S. Law is a Chinese-American author who looks to include diversity, representation, and truth in his steampunk. Instead of a historical fiction where one event has changed things, his worlds represent what could have been, what should be, and what always was. He draws from a life lived in multiple cultures, but always with a love for everything weird and geeky. He lives in NYC.
