The African church continues to experience rapid growth and global influence. In celebration of its fiftieth anniversary, the Association for Christian Theological Education in Africa (ACTEA) is reflecting on the journey of theological education on the continent. This inaugural volume in the ACTEA series brings together scholars and practitioners from across the continent to analyze the present landscape of theological education in Africa for the establishment of a critical foundation for the future of research, institutional planning, and policy development. DANSON OTTAWA is the national coordinator for the Africa Centre for Apologetics Research (ACFAR), Kenya. He has an MDiv in biblical studies from Africa International University, Kenya, where he teaches apologetics and theology. He has contributed chapters to the ASET Series published by Langham Global Library, including "The Holy Spirit in African Christianity: Perceptions of the Holy Spirit's Deliverance in Ghanaian Charismatic Ministries-Assessing the Work of J. Kwabena Asamoah-Gyadu" and "Salvation in African Christianity: A Pauline Theology of Justification and Its Implications for Ecclesiology in Kenya." He also writes for The Gospel Coalition Africa.
JOSHUA ROBERT BARRON is a missionary, theological educator, and curriculum developer in Kenya. He coordinates research and publications for ACTEA and is the managing editor of ACTEA's open access academic journal, African Christian Theology.
RUTH BARRON has worked in full-time ministry since 2000 and as a missionary in Kenya since 2007. Her academic vigor and creativity shine through in her service as a theological educator, curriculum developer, victim advocate, writer, and poet.
