In the two short years since the first edition was published, many changes have occurred in color management. Some pioneering color management tools have been discontinued, but most of the tools have been improved, and many new tools have been introduced.
The new second edition, which brings the reader up to date on those changes, discusses a range of topics essential to the successful implementation of color management, including: an introduction to color management; an overview of color theory; closed-loop color; color measurement instruments; scanner, monitor, and printer characterization and calibration; software; workflow; visual color evaluation; and tools.
