Pharmaceutical Microbiology is a foundational subject in the Bachelor of Pharmacy curriculum, forming the scientific basis for understanding drug safety, quality assurance, sterile manufacturing, and microbial control in pharmaceutical practice. While comprehensive single-volume textbooks serve as effective overview resources, they often limit the scope for in-depth explanation of individual units due to constraints of length and uniform coverage.
This book has been written to address this academic limitation by adopting a unit-wise, focused textbook approach. The present volume is dedicated exclusively to Unit–I of BP303T – Pharmaceutical Microbiology (Theory), enabling detailed yet syllabus-locked coverage of fundamental microbiological concepts, including microbial structure, bacterial growth, cultivation techniques, quantitative measurement of growth, and microscopy.
