La recherche et la gestion de documents multim�dia s'appuient sur un syst�me de recherche d'informations capable de trouver dans une grande base un ensemble de donn�es r�pondant aux contraintes d'une requ�te. Notre th�se porte plus sp�cifiquement sur les documents textuels et vid�os. Concernant les documents textuels, l'association d'une approche linguistique (normalisation et lemmatisation) � une approche statistique simplifie la recherche. La recherche de documents vid�o n�cessite un pr�- traitement de chaque document. La segmentation de la vid�o permet d'identifier les trames repr�sentatives du document. Une fois les documents textuels et vid�os s�lectionn�s et pr�par�s, il ne reste plus qu'� calculer le taux de similarit� de chacun avec le document formant la requ�te. Ce calcul se base sur les positions des unit�s linguistiques et des trames, sur leurs voisinages et leurs fr�quences et sur la taille des documents. Le mod�le propos� dans la th�se fait appara�tre que la combinaison de ces approches donne un syst�me de recherche d'informations multim�dia performant, robuste, pr�cis et rapide.
