Undated Edition, Circa1860, The Fifty First Edition of One Thousand Each. Beautiful guide for daily prayer and reflection. Illustrated with 26 fine B&W Plates. Frontispiece has an engraved illustration of a devout Family at prayer, protected by tissue guard. Followed by an Engraved Portrait Plate of Alexander Fletcher, with facsimilie Sinature beneath. Opposite is an Illustrated Title Page depicting the Finding of Moses, followed by a Printed Title Page. Handsome contemporary Brown Full-Leather Binding with 4 Raised Bands to spine. Gilt Decoration spine. Title Label missing but the Letters are clearly imprinted. Decorative Gilt Border & Blind Tooled Border to front and rear boards. All Page edges Gilt. Endpapers Marbled. Text arranged in Double Columns. 776 Pages, 3.4 Kilos, 12 1/2" Tall. Faint staining around margins of frontis, portrait & title pages. No inscriptions. An occasional spot of foxing. Last few pages have more light foxing and a amall bit missing from top corner margin. A little soiling in margins around some plates. Edge wear to leather with top corners and tips of bottom corners worn. Small split to leather (1" long) at bottom right corner of spine. A few small bits of leather missing at top of spine and top right corner of front board. Hinges sound & Binding firm. Large, heavy volume, weighs 3.4 kilos, so Postage outside UK will be extra.
