8vo, imitation leather boards. xxxi pp. + reproductions of 74 emblems with texts on facing pages. A well produced facsimile reprint edition of the original edition, which was published in Amsterdam in 1613. Texts in Dutch. The front hinge is split at the joint between the spine and front cover, and the spine has been re-glued. With the exception of this one flaw, ours is a fine copy (virtually as new). Thus overall about very good minus. No jacket (as issued?).

Our store, which I share with another bookseller (Robin Bledsoe, who specializes in books on art and horses), is located near Harvard Square in Cambrdige, Mass., about a ten minute walk from the subway station. We have a large selection of out-of-print scholarly books on the history of the visual arts from ancient times to the present, with many titles in European languages. Store hours are: Tuesday through Saturday noon to 6pm (and at other times by appointment).
