Bound in an older three-quarter binding with raised bands; spine lettered ?The Game of Billiards? and ?Roberts? between the bands (five bands total). Condition note: the front board is cleanly detached (present and aligns well; a straightforward repair for a binder). Text block is tight and complete.

A major instructional treatise on English billiards, originally issued in serial/periodical form and here bound complete with its original pagination preserved. The concluding advertisement references John Roberts & Co., ?Billiard Table Makers to H.R.H. The Prince of Wales,? and promotes the ?Roberts Patent Cue Tipper,? providing strong period context.
