With only very minor scratching to the gilt on the fore-edge of the text block. With illustrations from photographs by the author and Mr. Martin Johnson. Naturalist and ornithologist A. Blayney Percival arrived in East Africa from Arabia where he had been in charge of a British Museum expedition. He was first an Assistant Collector, and in 1901 was appointed Ranger of Game Reserves. Later, he was Chief Game Warden for many years (1915-1923). Special edition produced for The African Collection.
