As a variation more balls may be used; also, balls of different weight and size. 2. If played as a team game the players are numbered, the players with the odd numbers forming one team, the balance the other team. The game is started as described above, each team having one ball (which is thrown only to its own members). The side overtaking the other wins the game. This game may also be played by giving the balls to two players standing next to each other. The balls should now be thrown twice (or three times) around the circle to see which team wins. This can readily be seen by having the first player raise his arms with the ball after this has completed its second (third) round. Placing the players far apart increases the difficulty of the game. PASS BALL. The players stand shoulder to shoulder in a front circle. The object of the game is to pass a large, hollow ball (a club, dumb-bell, stick, handkerchief, etc.) rapidly from one player to the next; no player may be skipped. One player is chosen, who is outside the circle, whose aim it is to tag the ball that is being passed along the inside. The player having the ball in hand when it is tagged takes the place of the tagger. Should the ball be dropped and then be tagged by the tagger the player in the circle who touched the ball last is "it." WALL BALL." This game is of the same character as, but more difficult than, "Day Ball," described in the games of the Third Grade or "Toss-up," described in games of the Fourth Grade.
