About the Author
Dr. Denys Bilko is a molecular biologist, educator, GMP consultant, and cleanroom engineering expert with extensive international experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, biosafety laboratories, education, and contamination control systems. With a PhD in cell biology and years of practical leadership in biotechnology, academic teaching, and GMP facility design, he specializes in sterile manufacturing, EU GMP Annex 1 implementation, cleanroom qualification, biosafety systems, and risk-based Contamination Control Strategy (CCS).
As an Associate Professor and scientific mentor, he has spent many years teaching biology, biotechnology, laboratory sciences, and interdisciplinary problem-solving, combining academic rigor with practical industry application. His passion for education has led him to develop innovative teaching methodologies, including gamification, inquiry-based learning, and problem-oriented educational systems designed for 21st-century learners.
He has led complex projects ranging from stem cell production laboratories and BSL-3 facilities to pharmaceutical cleanrooms, isolator systems, and university laboratory infrastructure across Europe and beyond. His work combines scientific expertise with practical engineering, focusing on solutions that are technically sound, inspection-ready, and operationally sustainable.
As an author, Dr. Bilko writes both professional technical handbooks and educational books. His publications cover contamination control, cleanroom design, biosafety, GMP risk management, ecology, biology education, and modern teaching methodologies. He is particularly focused on creating practical resources for students, educators, engineers, QA specialists, GMP consultants, auditors, and pharmaceutical investors-translating complex scientific and regulatory concepts into clear, applicable guidance for both industry and education.
