About the Author: Chris Helene Bridge is an award winning author, artist and literacy advocate whose books inspire and delight people worldwide. Learning of the impact of the literacy crisis, Bridge was determined to get books into the hands of children at risk for illiteracy. She partnered with the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation where her books are featured in their literacy programs. Bridge was inspired to write Ganny Says by the wisdom, wit and values of Barbara Bush. She believes the teachings Mrs. Bush gave her family will continue to inspire the youngest readers and their families today. Chris is the mother of two grown sons and lives in Houston, Texas with her husband.
