Synopsis
Small improvements can transform your garden in just a weekend, when you choose the right project and create a plan specific to your site and priorities. In one weekend, you can turn a hard-to-mow area into a wildflower meadow, create a new seating arrangement, put in lighting, or even build a low-maintenance courtyard. If you take two weekends, you can make a sun canopy, obelisk, children's fort, wind screen, or minimalist garden. In only three weekends you could set up a tall, handsome pergola made from ordinary wood and rope. Or, you could eat from your own potager--an ornamental vegetable garden that doubles as a living sculpture. Other projects: pebble stream, paving maze, garden path, party furniture.
